This is the only track on 'Better Half' that was written in the studio, and it was a collaboration between myself, producer Chris Jak, Matt Chimes, and Nick Daniluk.

When I wrote it, I was going through some heartache about a girl that I couldn't have. Without going into to much detail (she still has no idea!), circumstances prevented me from really talking to anyone about it. I guess this is my version of self-inlicted therapy.

I'm really proud of this particular track because it forces me to recognize that I'm made better by allowing the input of other musicians, rather than skulking down in my basement writing every part of every song myself. That said, oddly enough, I feel like this track is maybe one of the most representative, and truly 'me' songs I've ever written.
I hope with all my heart that you enjoy Secret, and that maybe, whether you're familiar with my experience or not, it can mean something to you the way that it means something to me.
